In the UEFA Europa League, the match between Besiktas and Israeli team Maccabi Tel Aviv will be played without spectators in Debrecen, Hungary.

According to a statement from Besiktas, after discussions with UEFA, national football federations, and local authorities, Hungary’s Debrecen was the only city that agreed to host the match.

Although an agreement was initially reached with local authorities in Hungary to hold the Besiktas-Maccabi Tel Aviv game with spectators, the local authorities decided to make it a closed-door match, citing incidents during the Ajax-Maccabi Tel Aviv game as the reason.

The match, scheduled for the 5th round of the UEFA Europa League, will take place on November 28 at Nagyerdei Stadium in Debrecen.

Besiktas had previously announced that the match, which was supposed to take place on November 4 at Tupras Stadium, would be moved to a neutral country due to the risk of provocative actions, following the decision of the state’s security bureaucracy.
