In a heated race to bolster their squads before the new season kicks off, Turkish giants Besiktas and Trabzonspor set their sights on the same target: Rick Karsdorp, the coveted Dutch fullback currently playing for Roma.

Why is Rick Karsdorp leaving Roma?

The 28-year-old no longer fits into Roma’s plans for the upcoming season. With only one year left on his contract, Roma has listed him for transfer. His market value stands at approximately $5.45 million.

Turkish football clubs’ interest in Karsdorp

Recently, Karsdorp has caught the attention of Turkish Super Lig giants Besiktas and Trabzonspor. Both clubs are eager to add the right-back to their rosters, creating a competitive race for his signature.

Filippo Biafora of the Italian newspaper Il Tempo reports that Karsdorp has accepted the idea of moving to Türkiye and now awaits a convincing offer.

Who is Karsdorp?

Karsdorp began his professional career with Rotterdam’s well-known football club, Feyenoord, before transferring to Roma in 2017. Known for his speed and defensive skills, he has been a reliable player in the right-back position throughout his time in Serie A.

As the transfer window progresses, the football community eagerly watches to see which Turkish club will secure Karsdorp’s services.

Both Besiktas and Trabzonspor are committed to strengthening their squads, and adding Karsdorp would be a significant boost for either team.
