Besiktas midfielder Gedson Fernandes has attracted renewed transfer interest, with clubs from Russia and Europe reportedly pursuing the Portuguese player.
The Russian side, Zenit, who had previously shown interest, has re-entered the race to sign the 26-year-old. In addition, teams from Europe’s top five leagues are monitoring his situation, with formal offers expected in the coming weeks.
Besiktas is reportedly seeking a transfer fee of at least €25 million. Club president Serdal Adali is also in discussions with Benfica, which still holds 50 percent of the player’s economic rights.
Fernandes, who joined Besiktas from Benfica, scored 12 goals this season—his best scoring record in a single campaign.
