Officials emphasized ongoing operations led by the Syrian National Army (SNA) to clear the area of terrorist threats.
Ministry sources indicated that discussions about moving the historic tomb back to its original location depend on progress in securing the region.
"The SNA's efforts to advance and clear the area of terrorist activity are ongoing," officials said.
They added, "We are closely monitoring developments. This matter will be assessed if conditions on the ground are deemed appropriate."

The ministry also addressed reports suggesting a continued threat from the Daesh terrorist group in eastern Syria, accusing some groups of creating a false narrative to shield PKK/YPG's activity in the region.
"We have repeatedly conveyed to our counterparts that one terrorist organization cannot be used to eliminate another," the ministry noted.
