Turkish intelligence destroys PKK/YPG weapons seized from Assad regime in Qamishli, Syria
Turkish intelligence forces have destroyed 12 trucks, two tanks, and two ammunition depots loaded with missiles, heavy weapons, and ammunition in Qamishli, Syria, officials said Monday.
The equipment, reportedly seized by the PKK/YPG terrorist group from the Assad regime, was targeted in a series of coordinated strikes.
Security sources revealed that the PKK/YPG had begun transferring weapons and ammunition left behind by the Assad regime to their own storage facilities.
No tolerance for terror group’s presence near Türkiye
Under the cover of darkness, the group moved the weapons convoy from the region, prompting Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organization (MIT) to launch an operation.
The operation resulted in the destruction of the convoy, which included missiles, heavy weapons, and military supplies.
Meanwhile, security sources emphasized that there will be no tolerance for the terrorist group’s presence near the Turkish border or any efforts to pose threats to Türkiye.
