Turkish Foreign Ministry slams Israeli Foreign Minister on Erdogan comments

The Turkish Foreign Ministry sharply criticized Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz on Saturday for his recent social media statements targeting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
In a series of posts on social media platform X, Katz accused Erdogan of exacerbating regional tensions by supporting Hamas. Katz alleged that Erdogan’s actions contribute to “hatred and violence,” calling the Turkish leader a supporter of what he described as “Hamas killers and rapists.”
Katz’s posts included a manipulated image depicting Erdogan pouring gasoline over a burning city model, with flags labeled “Türkiye” and “Hamas.” The Israeli minister’s comments aimed to highlight Erdogan’s ongoing support for the Palestinian organization Hamas.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry responded swiftly in denouncing Katz’s remarks as “slanderous and false.” The ministry accused Katz of attempting to remain relevant by attracting attention through baseless accusations. It also criticized Katz for lacking credibility, noting his association with the Netanyahu administration, which has been condemned for its actions in the Palestinian territories.
“Israel Foreign Minister Katz’s statements reflect an attempt to deflect attention from his government’s own controversies and maintain his position within the so-called genocide network,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in the statement. “Türkiye will continue to speak the truth and advocate for the just cause of the Palestinian people.”
