Iranian Deputy Health Minister Abdurrahman Rustemiyan announced that civilian casualties from Israeli attacks on Iran have risen to 430 dead and 3,500 wounded.
Rustemiyan provided the updated figures to reporters at Tehran's Imam Khomeini Hospital, marking a significant increase from previous official counts.
The Iranian Health Ministry had previously reported on June 15 that total civilian casualties from Israeli strikes stood at 224 dead and more than 1,277 wounded. The new figures show nearly a doubling of recorded deaths and more than a twofold increase in wounded civilians.
The escalation began on June 13 when Israel launched extensive attacks targeting various Iranian cities, focusing primarily on nuclear facilities and high-ranking military command structures.
The Israeli strikes resulted in the deaths of Iran's Chief of General Staff, the Commander of the Revolutionary Guards, several senior commanders, and nine nuclear scientists.
