Iran prepares missile tunnels as retaliation against Israel escalates

The assassination of former Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran has escalated tensions in the Middle East, with Iran signaling potential retaliation against Israel.
The Iranian embassy in Beirut has issued a stern warning, stating, “If necessary, we can attack the enemy (Israel) from any point in Iran,” indicating an increased risk of confrontation.
US stands firm with Israel
In response to Iran’s threats, the U.S. has vowed unwavering support for Israel. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards have retaliated by deploying anti-ship missiles against U.S. naval vessels and aircraft in the region.
Additionally, Hezbollah, backed by Iran, has showcased its “Imad-4” missile facilities, signaling potential strikes against Israel.
Missile tunnels preparation
The Iranian embassy in Beirut has highlighted the presence of missile tunnels in Lebanon, referring to them as “missile cities” within the mountainous terrain of Iran’s geography.
The Iranian Embassy in Beirut issued a statement on its X social media account regarding Hezbollah’s post on Friday about the “Imad-4” tunnel with missile facilities.
The statement read, “In Persian, we call missile facilities located underground, inside rocks and mountains ‘missile cities’. These missile cities are located all over the dear Iran geography, and they strike terror into the hearts of Iran’s enemies. If necessary, we can attack the enemy from any point in the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
John Kirby, Strategic Communications Coordinator for the U.S. National Security Council, addressed the timing of a potential Iranian attack on Israel. While the exact timing remains uncertain, Kirby acknowledged that Iran could potentially strike without warning in the near future.
