It is estimated that Turkish dramas reached an impressive 1 billion unique viewers globally. While the Middle East and Latin America remain strong markets, the industry has seen growing popularity in the United States, Australia, and Europe.
The rise of digital platforms has further expanded Türkiye’s reach, bringing its productions to nearly 200 countries.
Netflix highlights Türkiye’s success
According to Netflix’s latest data, since 2021, 47 Turkish productions have featured on the platform’s weekly Global Top 10 lists.
These productions have dominated charts in 92 countries and appeared in the top 10 lists for 184 weeks over four years.
Boosting cultural tourism
Turkish dramas are not just captivating audiences—they are also drawing global attention to Türkiye’s cultural heritage. Productions filmed in picturesque locations have sparked curiosity among international viewers, who often seek information at country promotion booths organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
