Imany’s call from Ankara: ‘None of us are free until Palestine is free’
World-famous singer Nadia Mladjao, also known as Imany, performed in Türkiye’s capital, Ankara, raising her voice against Israeli atrocities in Palestine.
Imany met with the people of Ankara at the Oran Open Air Stage at the first stop of her Türkiye tour. Interpreting her songs with eight cellists, Imany received an impressive response from the audience.
Calling for peace during the concert, Imany addressed the audience with the following words: “Raise your fist for freedom. Raise your fist for a cease-fire in Gaza. Freedom for Palestine. If Palestine is not free, none of us are free.”

Imany’s social, political stances garner attention
Imany, real name Nadia Mladjao, was born in France in 1979. “Imany” means “faith” in Swahili. Through her music, she draws attention to social and political issues. She usually emphasizes universal themes such as women’s rights, freedom and peace.
Her vocal support for Palestine and her advocacy for peace position the musician not only as an artist but also as an activist.
