Türkiye announces tenders for railway projects along Central Corridor

Türkiye’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure announced tenders for Türkiye’s railway projects along the Central Corridor this week. The General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments, affiliated with the ministry, prepared the public tender announcement, which was then published in the Official Gazette.
Tenders are now open for the railway projects in Türkiye’s Central Corridor. As part of the “Eastern Türkiye Central Corridor Railway Development Project,” the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has provided a financial contribution of €246.4 million ($266.43 million). A portion of this funding will be used for the procurement of goods, construction works, related services and consulting.
The project aims to contribute to the development of safe, accessible, and sustainable transportation systems in Türkiye. Additionally, it seeks to enhance logistics efficiency in the Central Corridor between the Divrigi district in Sivas and the Georgian border, strengthening the resilience, connectivity, and sustainability of Türkiye’s national railway network.

Procurement of contracts open to all eligible bidders
The procurement of contracts financed by the Islamic Development Bank will be carried out in accordance with the bank’s guidelines for purchasing goods, construction services, and related services under the project financing. The tenders will be open to all eligible bidders.
Consulting services will be selected according to the bank’s “Guidelines for the Procurement of Consulting Services under Project Financing.”
Special procurement notices for the contracts and consulting services, which will be tendered under the bank’s “International Competitive Bidding (ICB)” or “International Competitive Bidding for Member Countries (ICB/MC)” procedures, will be published on the bank’s website, the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments’ publicly accessible website (https://aygm.uab.gov.tr), or in the Official Gazette.
