Tesla plans Full Self Driving rollout in Europe, China by early 2025
Tesla has announced plans to make its Full Self Driving (FSD) software available in Europe and China by early 2025, pending regulatory approval.
The company shared its timeline via a tweet, indicating that FSD could roll out in these regions in the first quarter of next year, provided the necessary clearances are obtained from each region’s respective regulators.
Regulatory approval pending in Europe, China
Tesla CEO Elon Musk previously mentioned that he expects regulatory approval by the end of 2024.
In response to Tesla’s announcement, Musk expressed hope that Full Self Driving would be approved in right-hand drive markets, including the U.K., Hong Kong and Macau, by the end of the first quarter or early second quarter of 2025.
According to an April report from The Wall Street Journal, Chinese authorities have already tentatively approved the launch of Tesla’s Full Self Driving software. However, the company’s progress with European Union regulators remains unclear at this time.
Full self-driving for Cybertrucks
Tesla also revealed that its Full Self Driving software would be available for Cybertruck models starting this month, alongside the autopark feature.
In addition, new features, including unpark, park and reverse functions, will be added to the FSD suite in October.
