Forbes Magazine’s recent unveiling of the world’s wealthiest individuals for 2024 shines a spotlight on Selcuk and Haluk Bayraktar, prominent figures in Türkiye’s business landscape.
Selçuk Bayraktar, aged 44 and at the helm of Baykar Technologies, emerges as a notable presence on the list, securing the 24th spot among Türkiye’s richest individuals. With a staggering fortune totaling $1.2 billion, Bayraktar’s ranking extends globally to 2410th place. Notably, his ascendancy to wealth is accompanied by his previous accolade as Türkiye’s foremost taxpayer in 2022, showcasing both his financial success and his commitment to contributing to the country’s economic development.
Murat Ulker, a member of the Board of Directors at Yildiz Holding, clinched the top spot on Türkiye’s list of dollar billionaires. It’s reported that Ülker’s fortune saw a decline of $19 million over the year, settling at $5 billion.
Meanwhile, Haluk Bayraktar, aged 45, joins the ranks of Türkiye’s affluent, clinching the 27th position with a wealth totaling $1.1 billion. Though slightly behind his younger counterpart, Haluk’s presence underscores the Bayraktar family’s influence within Türkiye’s economic landscape.
The Bayraktar brothers’ inclusion in Forbes’ prestigious list highlights their significant contributions to Türkiye’s business sector, particularly within the defense technology and manufacturing domains. Their achievements not only underscore their individual success but also symbolize Türkiye’s growing prominence in the global economic arena.
