Arcelik, a leading Turkish manufacturer of white goods, has announced plans to invest €110 million in three factories in Italy, aiming to position the country as a strategic hub for industrial design and the cooking appliances sector.

In a statement released on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), Arcelik confirmed ongoing discussions to evaluate a long-term sustainable transformation plan for its operations in Italy. According to the statement, negotiations with the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy relevant authorities, national and regional unions, and employee representatives to assess a sustainable transformation plan for our Italian operations are still ongoing.

Arcelik highlighted that Carinaro is expected to remain a central hub for spare parts and refurbishments, while some production operations for the washing machine and refrigeration categories will undergo scaling adjustments in Cassinetta, Siena, and Comunanza. Additionally, the company projected to evaluate all strategic options for industrial transformation processes including potential divestments.

Discussions with union and employee representatives continue to focus on minimizing the impact on the approximately 2,000 workers expected to be affected by these changes, Arcelik noted. Regardless of these changes, the company aims to maintain production at these facilities until the end of 2025.
