The streets of Dakar, Senegal, echoed with the resounding voices of protesters as civil society organizations spearheaded a massive demonstration against President Macky Sall’s decision to postpone the Feb. 25 presidential election. 

The unexpected delay sparked outrage among citizens, who took to the capital city in droves to voice their dissent. 

Amid chants and banners demanding electoral transparency and accountability, protesters passionately called for an immediate announcement of a new election date.

The delay also fueled concerns about the integrity of the electoral process and raised questions about the motives behind the decision.
