Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun was named the NBA’s Western Conference Player of the Week on Monday for his standout performances during week six of the season. Sengun helped lead the Rockets to three consecutive victories, averaging 21.3 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 9 assists per game.

The 21-year-old center posted a double-double in each game, including a career-tying streak of three straight 20-point performances. Sengun’s week also featured a triple-double against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Nov. 26, marking a significant achievement in his young career. The following night, he played a crucial role in the Rockets’ overtime win in Philadelphia, contributing 11 points and five rebounds in the extra period.

Sengun’s current season averages stand at 18.8 points, 10.9 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.14 steals, and 1.24 blocks per game. Last year, he made history as the youngest player in Rockets franchise history to earn the weekly honor.

With their recent form, the Rockets have won 10 of their last 12 games and now hold a 15-6 record, securing the second spot in the Western Conference behind the Oklahoma City Thunder.

In the Eastern Conference, New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson received Player of the Week honors after leading his team to a 3-1 record, averaging 26.8 points and 9.8 assists.
