Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has engaged in talks with several key international counterparts, including Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, and Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati. Unplanned visit by Iranian FM
In a significant move, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi visited Ankara today, following a brief stop in Damascus. While the visit was not initially scheduled, it is a response to the escalating crisis in Syria.
Araghchi is expected to discuss recent developments and explore potential solutions with Fidan during the visit.
Türkiye strengthens border and security measures
The Turkish National Defense Ministry reiterated that Turkish forces are not involved in the operations by opposition groups aimed at expanding their control in Syria. However, steps have been taken to ensure the safety of Turkish troops in the region.
