Osman Hamdi Bey’s painting sells for nearly $600K in Paris auction
A painting by Osman Hamdi Bey, one of the most prominent figures in Turkish art history, was sold for €571,500 ($598,500) at a recent auction in Paris.
The artwork, titled “Bursa Ulu Cami Onu” (Front of Bursa Grand Mosque) and completed in 1879, was auctioned at the prestigious Drouot Auction House.

The painting, measuring 60×42 centimeters and painted in oil, was purchased over the phone by an individual from Türkiye who is associated with a mining company.
