Princess Kate’s medical records access Illegally
An inquiry has been initiated into three individuals attempting to access the medical files of Kate, Princess of Wales
An investigation has been launched against three staff working at the clinic where Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, had surgery in January for allegedly trying to access the princess’ medical records.
According to information obtained by the British newspaper Daily Mirror, three staff members working at The London Clinic, where the princess had surgery, tried to access the file containing her private medical records, but no clear explanation was given about her health condition.
Following the incident that allegedly occurred on Jan. 29, when the princess was discharged from the clinic, the clinic launched its internal investigation, and the Information Commissioner’s Office (IOC), which regulates and investigates personal data protection, also launched an investigation.
Daily Mirror also shared information that the London Metropolitan Police may also launch an investigation.
The attempt to access Princess Kate’s file, which is kept confidential and can only be seen with the permission of the patients, also raised the question of the security of the information of King Charles, who underwent surgery for an enlarged prostate at the same clinic on the same days.
Hospital sources shared that there is no risk regarding King Charles’ file.
In the U.K., patients’ medical records can only be viewed with the patient’s consent. Viewing and sharing records without permission is considered a crime.
She hasn’t been seen since January
There were many speculations on social media about Princess Kate, who announced that she would have abdominal surgery in January and would not appear in public until April after staying in the hospital for two weeks.
While many rumors were shared that the princess’ health condition was worse than announced and that she died, Princess Kate shared a photo for Mother’s Day, celebrated on March 10 in England.
Social media users found evidence that the photo shared from Kensington Palace accounts had been doctored, and then international news agencies stopped publishing the image.
This development caused rumors about the princess’ health condition to increase even more.
The princess was last seen by an amateur camera while shopping in Windsor on March 18, but social media users were not convinced that the person in the image was the princess.
