Fatal bus accident in Türkiye’s Aksaray: 6 dead, 34 injured
A tragic bus accident occurred this morning at approximately 7:00 AM on the Aksaray-Ankara highway in the Acipinar area in Türkiye. Initial reports indicate that six people lost their lives, while 34 others sustained injuries. The incident involved a Mercedes passenger bus owned by Akhisar Seyahat, driven by 60-year-old Nurhan Hazer, which overturned after the driver lost control.
Emergency services, including multiple ambulances, fire crews, and gendarmerie units, were promptly dispatched to the scene. The injured individuals received initial medical assistance on-site before being transported to Aksaray Training and Research Hospital, as well as several private hospitals. Some of the injured are reported to be in critical condition, and efforts to identify the deceased are ongoing.
Following the accident, the Aksaray-Ankara road was temporarily closed to traffic. Emergency teams are currently working to reopen the roadway. The Aksaray Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has initiated an investigation, assigning three public prosecutors to the case.
Justice Minister Tunc stated, “An official investigation has been launched by the Aksaray Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the bus accident on the Aksaray-Ankara highway, and three public prosecutors have been appointed.”
