Israeli far-right lawmaker advocates for Gaza assault during Ramadan, while ‘they are fasting, tired, weak’

Almog Cohen, a member of Israel’s far-right Jewish Power Party, called for a ground assault on the Gaza Strip’s city of Rafah where Palestinians seek refuge, stating, “Ramadan is the best time to kill them.”

Speaking on Channel 14 television in Israel, Cohen addressed his country’s attacks on Gaza.

When asked about the U.S. administration’s stance on a potential ground assault on Rafah, where Palestinians seek refuge, Cohen replied: “The decision regarding a ground assault on Rafah belongs to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.”

‘I have no pity for them’

Advocating for a ground assault on Rafah, home to approximately 1.5 million Palestinians, Cohen asserted: “Should there be a ground assault on Rafah? Yes, while they are fasting, tired, weak, (the ground assault) should happen.”

Cohen expressed confusion over Israel’s reluctance to launch a ground assault on Rafah during Ramadan.

“Ramadan is the best time to kill them. They are tired and weak. I have no pity for them, I pity my brothers (Israeli captives). I call on the Prime Minister (Netanyahu) to enter Rafah by ground and kill them,” he said.
