Türkiye’s ruling AK Party condemns Israel for pager explosions in Lebanon
Spokesperson for Türkiye’s ruling AK Party Omer Celik, strongly criticized Israel following the attack in Lebanon involving the explosion of pagers. The incident reportedly resulted in nine deaths and 2,800 injuries.
Speaking at a civil society event organized by the AK Party’s Ankara Provincial Directorate, Celik condemned the actions, stating, “This demonstrates that Israel’s capacity for committing massacres knows no boundaries. They are trying to expand the war.” He described the use of pagers as a tactic of aggression, highlighting the severe impact on civilians.
The explosions occurred when pagers were detonated simultaneously in Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah militants. Celik labeled this act as a blatant attempt by the Israeli government to escalate the conflict.
“Netanyahu’s efforts to spread the war to Lebanon are politically motivated. This move confirms the accuracy of our president’s comparison between the ongoing resistance in Gaza and Türkiye’s War of Independence,” Celik said.
Celik also criticized the international response, suggesting that the global community’s reaction to the violence in Lebanon and the broader conflict in the region has been inadequate. He argued that the incident underscores the need for Türkiye to remain vigilant amid the growing instability surrounding it.
