Turkish intelligence chief Kalin holds high-level talks in Libya
Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalın made a significant visit to Libya’s capital, Tripoli, engaging in high-level discussions with key Libyan political and security figures.
During his visit, Kalin met with Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity Abdul Hamid Mohammed Dbeibah, along with Presidential Council Deputy Chairmen Abdullah al-Lafi and former Deputy Prime Minister Musa al-Koni.
Other high-ranking officials from the High Council of State, various ministries, and senior security and intelligence personnel also participated in the talks.
Focus on political and military developments
The discussions primarily addressed the current political and military situation in Libya.
Kalin reiterated Türkiye’s commitment to supporting Libya’s stability and unity. He emphasized the importance of resolving conflicts through national reconciliation and maintaining a cease-fire to prevent further escalations.
“Türkiye remains steadfast in its support for Libya’s peace and territorial integrity,” Kalin said, according to official sources.
Türkiye-Libya bilateral relations, regional security
In a one-on-one meeting with Dbeibah, Kalin and his Libyan counterpart discussed several topics, including bilateral relations between Türkiye and Libya, shared interests, and the ongoing situation in Gaza.
Regional developments, particularly in the Middle East, were also on the agenda. Both sides agreed on the need to enhance cooperation in political and security matters, stressing the importance of joint efforts to promote regional stability and protect civilians.
