Israel drops 3 bombs, each weighing 900 kg, on Gaza school: Gaza Media Office

According to Ismail al-Sawabitah, director-general of the Gaza Government Media Office, the al-Tabain School in the Derec neighborhood was the target of three large bombs by Israeli aircraft.

The school was accommodating over 6,000 displaced Palestinian refugees at the time of the attack.

Al-Sawabitah verified that the attack resulted in the deaths of 100 individuals and the injuries of dozens more. A significant number of individuals sustained grievous injuries, including amputations. Given the Israeli forces’ destruction of Gaza’s health infrastructure, he underscored that there are no hospitals that are capable of treating such a significant number of wounded.

Al-Sawabitah emphasized the dire state of Gaza’s health sector, referring to the severe shortages of essential medicines, beds, apparatus, and medical supplies. 

He also offered information regarding the explosives employed in the attack, stating that “Israel dropped three bombs, each weighing 900 kilograms, on the Tabiin School.” The U.S. administration authorized the Israeli occupation, leading to this atrocity.

He also observed that the al-Tabain School was the 175th sanctuary targeted by Israeli forces since the inception of the conflict. Israel directly targeted 155 of these schools, resulting in dozens of massacres.

According to al-Sawabitah, both Israel and the U.S. are responsible for the attack.

Thousands of displaced individuals were seeking refuge at the al-Tabain School, where the Israeli military had previously conducted an airstrike. The assault, which took place during morning prayers, resulted in at least 100 fatalities and a multitude of injuries.

According to local sources, the intensity of the explosions and the subsequent fire resulted in the dismemberment and burning of numerous bodies. The dispersed remains of the victims were a challenge for civil defense teams to collect.
