President Recep Tayyip Erdogan delivered several significant messages during his visit to the United States for the NATO Leaders’ Summit, saying: “Our fundamental expectation from our allies is that they adopt a similar approach to combating terrorism.”

“Our primary desire is for Syrian territories to be completely cleared of terrorism and to become a prosperous state managed by Syrians. For those who think they can establish a terrorist state in our region, this is a great delusion that will never come true,” Erdogan emphasized.

Regarding Israel’s attacks on Gaza, President Erdogan commented, “Israel must cease its threats and efforts to spread conflict. Otherwise, our region will face deeper conflicts and even the risk of war.”

Referring to the Russia-Ukraine war, President Erdogan remarked: “The possibility of direct conflict between NATO and Russia is certainly concerning. Every deliberate step that could lead to this outcome must be avoided.”

Finally, on Türkiye’s relations with the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), President Erdogan stated: “We do not view the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation as an alternative to NATO. Similarly, we do not see BRICS as an alternative to any other structure.”
