President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday addressed the opening ceremony of the 7th TRT World Forum 2023 in Istanbul organized under the theme “Thriving Together: Responsibilities, Actions, and Solutions”, and gave important messages to the world on current problems.
“Global media cartels are trying to cover up the brutality in Gaza and legitimize the massacre of journalists under the pretext of Hamas,” he added, referring to Israel’s attacks on Gaza since Oct. 7, which have taken over 17,000 lives, most of them women and children.
President Erdogan stated that reiterating Israel’s ‘state terrorism’. “Today, we better understand that international organizations tasked with ensuring global peace and security may not be capable of solving certain problems,” he noted.
In a bold statement, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has labeled former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his supporters as “terrorists” and vowed to bring them to trial at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, adding, “Just as (former President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia Slobodan) Milosevic was tried and convicted, I believe that (Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu and his accomplices will be judged in the same way and ultimately be convicted.”
“The global media cartels are trying to hide the atrocities in Gaza and legitimize the massacre of journalists under the pretext of Hamas,” he emphasized.
“Despite the daily loss of journalists’ lives, the institutions that have long championed freedom of the press remain conspicuously silent,” President Erdogan said and emphasized the silence of Western media.
Over 70 journalists have been killed in Gaza, said Erdogan, adding: “Where is the world’s renowned press? Why don’t they publish headlines about the journalists killed?”
It discusses President Erdogan’s emphasis on the global pain, particularly the ongoing situation in Gaza, and reflects on the war between Russia and Ukraine. It also mentions the value of a peace plan proposed earlier and expresses a viewpoint about the limitations of international organizations in solving global problems.
“Although the war between Russia and Ukraine has fallen off the agenda, it still continues with all its bitterness. The value of the peace plan put forward with the efforts of our country in the first months of the war is better understood day by day. At that time, it is now clearly seen how those who fueled the fire instead of extinguishing it before it grew did a great disservice to our region and the whole world. Today, we better understand that international organizations charged with ensuring global peace and security are not capable of solving problems,” Erdogan emphasized.
