Digital art transforms Anatolian symbols at exhibition in Brussels

Digital artwork produced by an Azerbaijani artist, Bager Akbay, was exhibited at the Royal Park Theater in Brussels in line with the Istanbul Digital Arts Festival, which will be held in Istanbul on May 2-5.
In “The Dance of Symbols” exhibition organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan and Mezo Digital, silk shawls with Turkish motifs were presented with Shusha’s music.
Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Belgium, Vagif Sadigov, inaugurated the exhibition that sheds light upon the digital era of art.
The festival to host 27 Turkish artists
Commenting on the event, Nabat Garakhanova, chairperson of the Board of Directors of Mezo Digital, said that the exhibition includes symbols of Anatolia such as earth, fire, water wheat and pomegranate.
Recalling that the 4th Istanbul Digital Art Festival will be held this year, Garakhanova stated that they will host 27 Turkish artists at the festival.
Pointing out that the forum wants to introduce Turkish artists to the world with their organized exhibitions, Garakhanova said they first started their journey in Brussels.
Later, they will make the European launch of the Istanbul Digital Art Festival in Milan and will also organize events in Vienna and the U.S.
Speaking about the essence of digital art in the modern world, Akbay said digital art creates a democratic space with various perspectives.
