The Harput relief was accidentally unearthed during terrace landscaping works in the Nevruz Forest area, situated approximately 200-250 meters east of Harput Castle. Found just one meter below the surface, the relief is now a centerpiece of historical significance in the museum.
Its intricate scenes, carved using a low-relief technique, portray the dramatic siege of a riverside fortress and its subsequent capture.
