As the U.S. heads into the election season, Kamala Harris, Vice President, has emerged as the definitive rival to Donald Trump following Joe Biden’s unexpected withdrawal from the presidential race. Harris, the current Vice President and a leading candidate after Biden’s endorsement, has secured the necessary votes to become Democrats’ nominee.

In a statement, Harris expressed her honor at being the Democratic candidate for the U.S. presidency. “I am honored to be the Democratic nominee for President of the United States. I will officially accept the nomination next week. This campaign is about people coming together, fueled by love of country, to fight for the best of who we are,” she said on social media.

With Biden’s withdrawal, Harris has taken the lead in the polls over Trump, making her the clear contender for the upcoming presidential election.
