U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has threatened to kill Yahya Sinwar, the new head of Hamas’s Political Bureau, if his party wins the presidential election on November 5.

Graham stated that if the Republican Party wins the 2024 U.S. presidential election, they aim to “kill rather than prosecute” Sinwar, Hamas’s new political leader.

Commenting on the U.S. Department of Justice’s announcement of indictments against six Hamas leaders, Graham said, “This is not a crime we are fighting against. Sinwar doesn’t care about being prosecuted by (Attorney General Merrick) Garland. Your days are numbered, my friend. We’re not going to prosecute you; we’re going to kill you.”

Known for his blunt remarks, the South Carolina senator also claimed that the U.S. has “lost its deterrence,” saying that “no one fears President Joe Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris,” while praising former President Donald Trump’s Middle East policy.

Graham emphasized that Trump “cornered Iran with maximum economic pressure and eliminated General Qassem Soleimani to prevent his plan to kill Americans in Iraq.”

The Republican senator also criticized the U.S. administration for not doing enough about the Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea and Iran’s threats to the region.
