US Senator Sanders criticizes Biden on international law
As Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip have continued since Oct. 7, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders criticized the ineffectiveness of international law.
Criticizing the international organizations that failed to prevent the deaths of approximately 38,000 people, Sanders said that the failure of international law is due to the attitude of the Biden administration. “The Biden administration, which cannot stop Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and does not respect international law, should not say that it is concerned about any country,” Sanders said in a statement.
“Our country claims to be the leader of the free world. When we criticize China and Türkiye and say we are concerned, we are mocking people’s minds. The Biden administration continues to protect Netanyahu against the allegations of Karim Khan, the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC),” Sanders added.
Israel is being tried for genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for its attacks on the Gaza Strip. The ICC prosecutor requested an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. However, despite the ICJ’s injunctions and calls for a halt to the attacks on Rafah, Israel’s attacks continue.
