In a significant development, American and Russian representatives are preparing for consultations that could pave the way for a groundbreaking diplomatic summit, as reported by Russian News Agency (TASS).

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov are anticipated to meet in Riyadh ahead of an alleged Trump-Putin summit. The meeting may be held tomorrow.

The upcoming talks will cover multiple high-stakes issues, including the potential Trump-Putin summit in Saudi Arabia. These stories were among the top headlines in Monday’s newspapers across Russia, signaling a shift in the diplomatic landscape.

Diplomatic preparations for Trump-Putin summit

One of the most anticipated diplomatic events is the upcoming meeting between U.S. and Russian officials in Saudi Arabia. According to Reuters, the meeting will serve as a crucial step in laying the groundwork for a summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This was revealed on Feb. 16 by Michael McCaul, the former chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, alongside a source familiar with the travel plans of the involved U.S. delegation.

The consultations are expected to focus on initiating comprehensive talks aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, as well as organizing the highly anticipated summit between the two leaders.
