Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visits shipbuilding facility in Istanbul to strengthen Ukraine’s naval capabilities

As part of a diplomatic move to bolster Ukraine’s naval capabilities, President Volodymyr Zelensky took a major visit of a shipbuilding facility in Istanbul on Friday. The building site of the “Ivan Mazepa,” a state-of-the-art corvette intended for use in the Ukrainian Navy, served as his main focus of interest.

President Zelensky emphasized the strategic significance of his visit to Istanbul by using social media to explain the rationale for his trip. During official visits to Türkiye, the Ukrainian president took advantage of the chance to personally see the development of naval resources that are essential to Ukraine’s military system.

“Ivan Mazepa” is expected to be a key component of Ukraine’s maritime defense plan, and President Zelensky took great care to examine the equipment and preparedness of the ship. Interacting with members of the Ukrainian Navy, he expressed his gratitude for their commitment and duty, stressing the importance of their joint efforts to strengthen the country’s security.

And it was more than just an inspection visit. President Zelensky had an active part in overseeing the building of the second Ada class corvette. Giving the ship the name “Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyi”

Ukrainian President expressed his gratitude for the hardworking navy men as well as for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the range of Turkish and Ukrainian military enterprises that participated in the joint venture. President Zelensky praised their collaboration and urged more to be done to strengthen military capabilities and promote long-lasting peace.
