Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that Ukraine’s Peace Formula is the sole solution for a lasting and inclusive peace, during a joint press conference with Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Ankara.

Sybiha praised Türkiye’s ongoing support and strong bilateral relations between the two countries as they discussed the Russia-Ukraine war and other key issues.

Peace formula for a just and lasting peace

During the press conference, Sybiha emphasized that Ukraine’s Peace Formula is the only option for achieving a fair and lasting peace in the ongoing war. He expressed gratitude for Türkiye’s support and highlighted the importance of global backing for Ukraine’s peace plan.

“This formula is in line with UN principles and is essential for all peace-seeking nations,” he noted.

Strengthening Türkiye-Ukraine relations

Sybiha underscored Türkiye’s role as a strategic partner and thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Minister Fidan for their principled stance on Ukraine’s territorial integrity.

He reiterated the importance of Türkiye’s support in both diplomatic and humanitarian efforts, specifically in areas such as food security and defense cooperation.

Focus on Black Sea security and grain shipments

The Ukrainian foreign minister also drew attention to the security situation in the Black Sea and the recent Russian attacks on Ukraine’s port infrastructure, which have affected grain shipments to countries including Egypt and Italy. Sybiha stressed the need for continued efforts to protect global food security and prevent further disruptions.

Turkish companies in Ukraine’s reconstruction

Sybiha welcomed the involvement of Turkish companies in the reconstruction of Ukraine, noting that firms such as Baykar and STM are contributing significantly to the rebuilding efforts. He encouraged more Turkish companies to join these initiatives, which he described as beneficial for both nations.

Fidan reaffirms Türkiye’s support for Ukraine

Minister Fidan praised Ukraine’s resilience and reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, including Crimea. He highlighted Türkiye’s efforts in peace negotiations and expressed hope that ongoing talks would lead to a sustainable solution to the conflict.

Türkiye’s Trade Minister Omer Bolat also met with Sybiha. Bolat shared on his social media account about the meeting with the foreign minister.

As Türkiye, we attach great importance to strengthening our commercial relations with Ukraine and increasing mutual investments and our bilateral trade volume.

As a country that has always supported the territorial integrity of Ukraine, we believe that peace established in our region will have a positive impact on the development of our political, economic and commercial relations and on our cooperation in the efforts to rebuild Ukraine.
