Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar said Azerbaijani gas will be transported to Europe via Türkiye under the natural gas supply agreement between Azerbaijan and Türkiye. The agreement was originally set to expire at the end of 2024, but has been extended until the end of 2030.

The Turkish Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAS), the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), and the Azerbaijan Gas Supply Company (AGSC) signed the natural gas supply and exchange agreement on June 4.

This marked the start of the 29th International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition, which will be part of Baku Energy Week from June 4 to 6.

The extension was formalized by Mikayil Jabbarov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, and Alparslan Bayraktar, Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources. Additionally, BOTAS and SOCAR signed four agreements related to natural gas distribution and exchange.

“With the four agreements signed between BOTAS and SOCAR, Azerbaijani gas will be transported to Europe and Nakhchivan via Türkiye and Turkmenistan gas will be delivered to our country,” Bayraktar announced on social media.

“We also signed the extension of the natural gas supply agreement between BOTAS and AGSC, which was set to expire this year, extending it until the end of 2030. I hope these agreements will benefit the two brotherly countries,” Bayraktar added.
