Türkiye represents greatest Muslim civilization: Indonesian President Prabowo

‘Türkiye is the greatest Muslim civilization for Indonesia,’ said Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Thursday, during an address to the Turkish Parliament in Ankara.

Sharing his opinion of Türkiye, Prabowo asserted that Türkiye is a continuation of the Ottoman Empire. “We remember the historical relations between us,’ apparently referring to the Ottoman era,” the Indonesian president maintained.

Subianto pledged to stand “side by side with Türkiye in defense of justice and righteousness in a world full of uncertainties.”

He also emphasized that in his youth, Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II and the republic’s founder, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, were among his heroes.
