Turkish Red Crescent’s 7th Gaza aid ship reaches Egypt ahead of Ramadan
The Turkish Red Crescent’s 7th aid ship, laden with essential supplies for Gaza, arrives in Egypt, ready to be swiftly transported by trucks for distribution to the people in need
The 7th humanitarian aid ship of the Turkish Red Crescent, which departed from Mersin province on Thursday, reached Egypt’s El-Arish Port ahead of Ramadan.
The aid supplies in the ships, welcomed by the Turkish Red Crescent President Fatma Meriç Yılmaz and the Red Crescent team in the region, are being loaded onto trucks for the urgent needs to be delivered to the people of Gaza as soon as possible.
The ship was immediately loaded prior to the holy month of Ramadan. The trucks, loaded under the guidance of Turkish Red Crescent expert personnel in the country, will enter Gaza from the Rafah Border Crossing.
The ship carries a cargo of 2,737 tons, consisting of food boxes with ready meals, water, food packages, flour, clothing, hygiene products, tents, sleeping bags, blankets, medical supplies, and baby items.
The Turkish Red Crescent, working for the rapid delivery of aid trucks to the region, is coordinating with the Egyptian Red Crescent and the Palestinian Red Crescent.
In addition to the distribution of food packages within Gaza, the Turkish Red Crescent is also operating a kitchen in the Refah region of Gaza, continuing to distribute hot meals to 5,000 people daily. Meal distribution will become particularly important during Ramadan.
