Trump to appoint Elon Musk to head economic efficiency commission
Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, announced that the U.S. would undergo an economic “renaissance,” with Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk leading a commission to improve government efficiency.
Speaking at the New York Economic Club, Trump criticized the current administration’s economic policies, stating, “Our economy is in steep decline due to the radical policies of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Our country faces the threat of failure and collapse.”
Trump revealed that Musk has agreed to chair a commission tasked with auditing the federal government’s financial status and performance. “With Elon Musk’s support, we will establish a Government Efficiency Commission to cut waste and save trillions,” he said.
Trump emphasized that Musk’s acceptance of the role marks a significant step toward securing the U.S. economic future, adding, “Despite his busy schedule, Elon has agreed to take on this task, and together we will accomplish great things for this country.”
This new initiative is seen as a central component of Trump’s campaign, focusing on economic reforms and enhancing governmental fiscal efficiency. The impact of this commission under Musk’s leadership remains to be seen.
