Former President Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for the 2024 U.S. presidential race, called for Israel’s help in defeating his Democratic rival Kamala Harris during an Israel-America Council event in Washington, D.C.

Trump emphasized his commitment to Jewish Americans, saying, “My promise to you is that I will be your defender and protector with your votes.”

Trump declared that the upcoming Nov. 5 election is “the most important election in Israel’s history,” insisting, “Israel must defeat Kamala Harris.” He also claimed that his support among Jewish Americans was insufficient, stating, “I’m at 40%, which means 60% are voting for someone who hates Israel.”

Trump further warned that Israel would cease to exist within two years if he does not win the election. The 78-year-old candidate added that he is loved by everyone in Israel and could run for prime minister if he wanted to.

He also criticized the waning influence of the Israel lobby, remarking, “15 years ago, Israel had the strongest lobby. If you said anything bad about Israel or Jews, you’d be out of politics.”
