Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps seizes an Israeli-owned commercial vessel in the Gulf of Oman.

Announcing the seizure, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that they intercepted a commercial vessel belonging to Israel in the Gulf of Oman.

The operation targeted the MSC ARIES, a vessel registered to the Zobiac Group owned by Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer, according to Iranian authorities.

Soldiers from Iran descended on the ship using helicopters, and the vessel was taken into custody off the coast of Fujairah, a port city in the United Arab Emirates, within the Gulf of Oman.

The MSC ARIES, a container ship flying the Portuguese flag, is operated by London-based Zodiac Maritime, a company under the ownership of Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer.

Last Friday, the MSC ARIES was last spotted heading towards the Strait of Hormuz off the coast of Dubai. The vessel had deactivated its tracking systems, a common practice for Israeli-affiliated ships operating in the region.

This incident unfolds amidst escalating tensions between Iran and the West, particularly following a suspected attack on the Iranian Consulate in Syria, allegedly carried out by Israel.
