Sweden and Denmark have signed a contract with Swedish military manufacturer BAE Systems Hagglunds for the delivery of 205 armored combat vehicles. This order comes as both countries seek to replenish their military stocks after providing support to Ukraine.

The contract, valued at 25 billion Swedish kronor ($2.3 billion), will see the delivery of CV90 vehicles, with 115 going to Denmark, 50 to Sweden, and 40 to Ukraine.

Why it matters

The deal highlights ongoing European efforts to support Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression while ensuring that contributing nations maintain their own defense capabilities. The replenishment of armored vehicles is part of broader commitments made by Sweden and Denmark to assist Ukraine, while also bolstering their own military resources.
