Small plane crashes in Manheim Township, Pennsylvania, multiple injured

A small plane crashed on Sunday in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, near a traffic intersection in Manheim Township, as reported by local WGAL News. First responders, including firefighters and police, were seen gathering in a parking lot area near the crash site.
The scene was marked by heavy smoke, at least two severely damaged and burned-out cars, and what appeared to be a part of the small plane scattered around.
According to authorities, the aircraft, identified as N347M, took off from Lancaster Airport but quickly went down for unknown reasons. Multiple injuries have been reported as a result of the crash.
Route 501 in the vicinity of the crash site has been closed to traffic as emergency responders work to manage the situation.
Meanwhile, Pennsylvania State Police are “on the ground assisting local first responders,” Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said in a post on X. He added that “All Commonwealth resources are available as the response continues.”
Further details about the cause of the crash and the condition of those injured are not yet available.
The crash adds to a series of plane incidents across the United States since January. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause.
