Moscow’s forces have been steadily and gradually gaining ground since capturing Avdiivka, conquering several villages in the region

The Russian Defense Ministry announced Sunday that Russian forces have seized control of the village of Ocheretyne in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region.

The village, situated northwest of the former Ukrainian stronghold of Avdiivka, which Russia seized in February, had a population of approximately 3,000 before the war.

Ukrainian officials did not provide any comments, and the evening report from the Armed Forces General Staff did not mention Ocheretnye.

Unofficial Ukrainian war bloggers, including the renowned Deep State Map site, asserted that Russia had gained control over the village.
