Russia intercepts 7 Ukrainian drones in Belgorod, no casualties reported
Russia’s air defense systems destroy seven Ukraine-launched drones over Belgorod region, Russian defense ministry says
Russia’s air defense systems Tuesday shot down seven drones launched by Ukraine in Gubkin, a city in the southwestern Belgorod region, the Russian defense ministry reported.
According to the ministry, no drones hit their intended targets in the region, and there were no casualties reported. However, debris from the drones damaged four houses.
Ukraine has frequently targeted the Belgorod region, where Russia’s military and transport infrastructure is located, during the two-year war.
Ukraine neither confirms nor denies Russia’s accusations that it shot down a military plane carrying 65 captured Ukrainian soldiers over the region in January.
