Russia, China concur on Moscow’s involvement in Ukraine talks
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin and China’s special representative for Eurasian affairs, Li Hui highlight Moscow’s role in Ukraine talks
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin and China’s special representative for Eurasian affairs, Li Hui emphasized the necessity of Moscow’s involvement in any talks concerning a resolution for the situation in Ukraine, as per a statement by the Russian foreign ministry Sunday.
During his second visit to Europe to advocate for a political resolution to the Ukrainian crisis, the Chinese envoy engaged in discussions with Galuzin, with upcoming meetings planned in Poland, Ukraine and Germany.
The Russian foreign ministry highlighted a comprehensive and active exchange of perspectives on the Ukrainian crisis during the meeting, noting that any negotiations toward a diplomatic solution must include Russia and acknowledge its security interests.
In February 2022, Russia commenced a large-scale invasion of Ukraine under the guise of a “special military operation” aimed at “denazifying” the country.
Despite ongoing efforts, the conflict persists, resulting in civilian casualties almost daily, a characterization disputed by Kyiv and its Western allies as an unjustified territorial annexation.
