Rescue dog ‘Arkadas,’ gifted by Türkiye continues training in Mexico
Following the Kahramanmaras earthquakes, ‘Friend,’ gifted to Mexico by Türkiye after the passing of rescue dog ‘Proteo,’ continues its training
Arkadas, (Friend) the German Shepherd puppy gifted to the Mexican Army Dog Training Unit from Türkiye in memory of the late search and rescue dog “Proteo,” who lost his life in the Feb. 6 Kahramanmaraş earthquake, continues its search and rescue training.
His trainer Juan Carlos Villeda, who gave search and rescue training to “Arkadas” at the dog training center in Mexico’s capital Mexico, said that the dog has adapted to them and they love him very much.
Arkadas was given as a gift in May last year and is now 1 year old.
Upon receiving the gift, the Mexican Ministry of Defense posted a Twitter message on behalf of Arkadas saying, “Thank you to my Mexican friends who welcomed me with great love. I promise to do my best to be a great search and rescue dog.”
