Poland activates air defense systems Russian missile
Poland has enabled air defense systems across the country in response to Russia’s missile attacks
Poland has activated its air defense systems across the country in response to the intense missile attacks conducted by Russia on Ukrainian regions near the Polish border.
Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, the deputy prime minister and defense minister of Poland, announced the activation in the wake of the attacks, stating that several Ukrainian cities, including Lviv, near the Polish-Ukrainian border, were targeted by Russian missiles.
According to Kamysz, Russia is transitioning to a war economy, increasing the production of arms and munitions and reportedly receiving weapons from allies like North Korea. He pointed to these developments as reasons for the escalation of attacks on Ukraine.
The conflict between Russia and Ukraine began in February 2022 when Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Western countries imposed severe sanctions on Russia in response to Russia’s actions. Ukraine has received support for the conflict through arms, humanitarian aid, and economic assistance from the international community.
As the conflict approaches its third year on Feb. 24, it remains complex and fraught with challenges.
