Pegasus Airlines plane makes emergency landing at Manchester due to technical fault

A Pegasus Airlines flight traveling from Istanbul to Manchester, flight PC1179, made an emergency landing in the U.K. after experiencing a significant “mechanical failure” in British airspace.
Despite the alarming situation, the aircraft managed a safe descent into Manchester Airport, although smoke was reported to be coming from the plane during landing.

Mechanical failure triggers emergency declaration
The Airbus A320, en route from Istanbul to Manchester, encountered technical difficulties after entering U.K. airspace.
The aircraft issued an emergency distress signal due to a “mechanical failure.”
However, despite the issues, the flight successfully landed at Manchester Airport without any casualties.
Hydraulic system failure leads to landing gear malfunction
According to officials, the issue was linked to an open landing gear door that caused a hydraulic failure. The Airbus A320’s landing was captured on camera, revealing that the landing gear doors remained open and one reverse thrust system failed to activate.
Aviation experts explained that normally, landing gear doors should close after the gear is extended, but due to the hydraulic malfunction, this was not possible.

Firefighters on standby at Manchester Airport
Manchester Airport authorities confirmed that the aircraft had reported a technical issue, and all emergency protocols were followed meticulously.
Firefighters were stationed on the runway as a precautionary measure, ready to respond in case of an emergency.
Thankfully, the plane landed safely, and the situation was swiftly controlled.
No injuries reported, aircraft under maintenance
Authorities confirmed that the emergency landing concluded without any injuries, and passengers were unharmed.
Following the incident, the Pegasus Airlines aircraft was taken in for inspection and maintenance to ensure its readiness for future flights.
