North Korea launched a suspected ballistic missile, triggering responses from both Japan and South Korea, the Japanese Prime Minister’s Office announced Monday.

As reported by Kyodo News, Japan’s J-Alert early warning system detected the missile launch, prompting the issuance of an evacuation order for residents in the Okinawa Prefecture in the south.

Additionally, South Korean military sources confirmed that North Korea had fired an unidentified projectile southward over the Yellow Sea, according to Yonhap News Agency based in Seoul.

The launch marks another instance of North Korea’s provocative actions, raising tensions in the region and drawing immediate attention from neighboring countries.
