NATO strengthens air defenses amid Russian airspace violations
NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte has emphasized the importance of Black Sea security and expressed concern over repeated violations of NATO airspace by Russian drones and missiles.
Speaking at NATO headquarters in Brussels after a meeting with Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, Rutte condemned Russia’s actions in strong terms.
The repeated incursions of Russian drones and missiles into NATO airspace are reckless, dangerous, and unacceptable.

Rutte underscored the critical role of air defense, noting that Russia’s war in Ukraine has underscored the need for robust systems.
“Air defense remains a priority,” Rutte said, reaffirming NATO’s commitment to protecting its members.
“NATO takes Black Sea security very seriously. We are ready to protect and defend every ally,” he added.
